A Warm Welcome
A warm welcome back to another action-packed year with Monaghan U3A and a happy and healthy 2023 to you all!
Membership:
It is now time to re-register your membership or register as a new member. Fees remain at €20pp or €30 per couple. Registration envelopes are available in Monaghan Credit Union or from any member of the Committee. Please complete the registration slip on the envelope, enclose cash and place in the U3A box in the Credit Union. (We will need your contact details for texts etc). Important reminder: You must be a member of Monaghan U3A to take part in any of the trips, classes, activities etc. for insurance purposes.
Our AGM takes place in The Four Seasons Hotel at 11am on February 17th. Membership can also be paid there and details of all upcoming events etc. will be discussed.
Trips:
Our two European City trips, that were cancelled due to Covid, are now back on and details have been texted to members:
Krakow - Sunday 23rd April to Wednesday 26th April
Paris - Wednesday 3rd May to Saturday 6th May
Details of Irish trips to be texted shortly:
Donegal - 24th April to 27th April
Wexford - 2nd May to 5th May (these dates to be confirmed)
Two-day trips are also being finalised - one to Belfast and one to The Giant's Causeway.
A theatre trip to see The Lion King in Bord Gáis Theatre has been organised for October 18th. This is a matinee performance at 2:30p. Full details will be texted to members in due course.
Events:
Our annual party night takes place in The Golf Club on February 23rd. There will be a two-course buffet, plus tea and coffee. Music will be provided by Michael Mc Gorman. So, dust off your glad rags and dancing shoes as this is one of the highlights of our year and not to be missed.
A big thank you to all who attended our last event, the Christmas Fundraising Coffee Morning. This was extremely successful and presentations of €1,000 each will be made to Crocus and Teach na Daoine Food Bank at our AGM.
